PROGRAM:
Day 1
In the morning arrival in Milan by flight and departure to Casalzuigno, near Sesto Calende, to visit Villa Porta Bozzolo, historic property of FAI (Italian Environment Found). The building is rich in eighteenth-century frescoes and the garden is particularly attractive for its amphitheater design. In the afternoon we move towards Bisuschio to visit Villa Cicogna Mozzoni and its gardens, a splendid example of Renaissance architecture in Lombardy, with the garden which is spread over several terraces. Transfer to Cernobbio, the famous holiday resort situated on the western shore of Como Lake.

Day 2
A pleasant cruise along the branch of Como Lake, watching the banks adorned with villas, palaces and gardens. From Bellagio, locality on the southern fork of two branches of the lake, visit the garden of Villa Melzi d'Eril Gallarati Scotti, built in early XIX century and rich in plant species from all around the world.
Back by ferry to the west coast of the lake to visit the famous promontory of Villa Balbianello situated in Lenno and property of FAI, known for its tree heritage and, ultimately, even more famous for some shots of famous films.

Day 3
In the morning visit to the stunning gardens of Villa Carlotta in Tremezzo. The building contains precious examples of neo-classical art, such as statues and paintings, while inside the park there are different collections of trees, including camellias, rhododendrons, azaleas, ferns and citrus. A short stretch of shore leads to Ossuccio for the visit of Villa Balbo, aristocratic mansion surrounded by an elegant Renaissance-influenced garden.
After the tour transfer towards Como for a break of leisure in the city center, full of fascinating sights and architecture [Possible visit to a silk production site, with shopping opportunities]

Day 4
Leave the banks of the lake to reach Cremnago, in the heart of Brianza, to visit the garden and the Villa of Perego. The garden, partly Italian and partly English style, contains the sixteenth century building, where you can still find the original eighteenth-century style rooms and a special collection of dolls.
Short transfer to Anzano del Parco to visit Villa Carcano. Designed by the architect Pollack, the garden and the surrounding park became so great to give the name (Parco) to the village below. Full of tall trees, very impressive, including some centuries-old chestnut trees and Ginko biloba.

Day 5
The route leads east to Lecco to the private garden of Villa Gavazzi in Valmadrera. Once location of a silk factory, the building, belonging to one of the many branches of the family Gavazzi, is surrounded by a beautiful garden, where you can admire a magnificent specimen of Liriodendron tulipifera and other old and big trees.
In the afternoon visit to the gardens of Villa Dubini in S.Stefano (Lecco), with a magnificent rose garden in a Mediterranean landscape with beautiful sight on the lake. In the late afternoon return to Cernobbio.

Day 6
Once again the tour leads to Como, where we visit the famous Villa Olmo.
Afternoon dedicated to the visit of the park of School of Floriculture in Vertemate con Minoprio. It’s a renowned school of horticulture with courses at different levels. The two greenhouses with exceptional collection, one of Mediterranean plants and one of tropical plant, justify the interest of the visit. [seasonal shows and tasting of vegetables, fruit and flowers inside].

Day 7
The excursion begins in Monguzzo, at the private garden of Villa Sierra. The park design has been influenced by an English lady, who carried her passion for plants here. She introduced especially perennial grasses, which are proudly displayed in the various "rooms" of the garden.
Proceed to Orsenigo for a stop at the nursery where you can admire Walter Lampugnani original collections of scented pelargoniums, hostas and agaves. Short drive to Montorfano and visit the garden and the villa of the lords of Gravellona Barbavara, also owners of the lake in front of the location. The break ends with an aperitif on the villa’s terrace.

Day 8
Morning free time and transfer to airport.
